Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri actor Kartik Aaryan on his ‘love & hate’ relationship with Karan Johar: “I hope yeh film toh hogi”

Kartik Aaryan recently opened up about his love-and-hate relationship with filmmaker Karan Johar as they prepare to collaborate on the upcoming film Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri. Their professional journey has seen its fair share of ups and downs, notably beginning with the announcement of Dostana 2 in 2019, which was ultimately shelved.

Kartik Aaryan says relationship with Karan Johar is of love & hate

At the recent SCREEN LIVE event in Mumbai, Kartik Aaryan shared a humorous moment when shown a photo of himself and Karan Johar. In the picture, Karan playfully pulls Kartik by the ear. The audience erupted in laughter, and Kartik, initially at a loss for words, joined in the amusement.

He remarked, “Ispe kya bolu? (What do I say to this?)” and explained that the photo perfectly captures their complex relationship. He stated, “I think yeh love and hate relationship hai… Bahut ache yeh photo represent karti hai (I think this is a love and hate relationship. This photo represents that very well.)”

Kartik reminisced about the context of the photo, which was taken just before they signed for Dostana 2. He noted, “Yeh moment tab ka hai jab hum logo ne pehli film, jo humari honi thi kabhi, voh sign ki thi. (This was the moment when our first film, which was going to happen, was signed.)” He humorously suggested that Karan might have anticipated the moment and took the picture beforehand.

Kartik on working with Karan

Assuring his fans of their renewed collaboration, Kartik confirmed that he is indeed working with Karan on Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri. It is produced by Dharma Productions and directed by Sameer Vidwans, with a planned release in 2026. He expressed optimism about the project, saying, “But abhi main inke sath film kar raha hu. And hum sath mein kar rahe hain yeh film and I hope yeh film toh hogi. (Now I am doing a film with him. We are doing it together and I hope it happens.)” Kartik concluded, emphasizing his commitment to the film and the collaboration with Karan.
